As Melvin E. Conway stated back in 1967, “Any organization that designs a system (defined broadly) will produce a design whose structure is a copy of the organization’s communication structure.” In short, if a company’s workforce is fragmented, the software it makes will be fragmented. If a company’s communication structures are hierarchical and centralized, so too will be the software. In this talk, ASG Analyst Bob Reselman will discuss Conway’s Law and illustrate how to apply it for a successful digital transformation.
Bob will answer the following questions:
– What are the characteristics of Conway’s Law?
– How does Conway’s Law manifest itself in the modern enterprise?
– How can a company make Conway’s Law work to its advantage?
