Michael Mumuoglu, co-founder and CEO at CardinalOps, joins Alan Shimel at RSA to share what CardinalOps does as a security vendor. CardinalOps provides a SaaS platform that delivers AI-powered recommendations to delete MITRE ATT&CK coverage gaps in existing security stacks and continuously audits existing SIEM/XDR/EDR solutions to find and fix broken, noisy and missing detections. Michael shares how his professional experience and the businesses he’s been involved with led to the launch of CardinalOps in 2020. Alan and Michael discuss the difficulties customers have in using security tools. Operationalizing so much technology is a big challenge when infrastructure and threat landscapes are continuously evolving. The amount of money spent on improperly implemented security or on solutions that don’t work is tremendous. Security solutions need to be better understood. In addition, Michael shares a research report conducted by CardinalOps that measured effective implementation of tools by reading the data collected from production systems.
