Hi again, everyone here the headlines for October 27th. First up Google and its parent company alphabets Revenue growth has reached its slowest Pace since the pandemic. Alphabets quarterly Revenue Rose by 6% which is the lowest increase since early 2020.
However, Google ads sales growth is dropped even more as more and more advertisers clamp down on spending. As the economy is slowed down in recent months many households are tightening their budgets and avoiding the purchase of discretionary items, which is made advertisers less likely to spend money marketing, which is also is impacted Google ads. While on the topic of profits Microsoft reportered a 14% drop in profit in the most recent quarter this drop is in large part due to the weaker market for PCs.
The personal Computing business was expected of lackluster Revenue based on high levels of inflation and how many consumers bought devices during the pandemic with this being said though revenue from Windows licensing was down 15% while the worldwide shipments of personal computers dropped almost 20% For context this is the biggest drop since Microsoft began tracking the personal Computing Market. In other news. The US is given a nuclear lab in Idaho 150 million dollars to upgrade its facilities.
The lab in question the Idaho National Laboratory is the top Advanced nuclear energy research lab in the nation with over 300 reactors all over the world tracing their Roots back to this lab. It has been giving the funds to increase nuclear research in develop the next generation of nuclear reactors. This push towards nuclear energy has been seen across the world as more and more countries are looking for ways to develop clean energy amidst potential energy shortages.
