Tech isn’t evolving right now. It’s colliding.
AI data center economics are cracking. AWS re:Invent has turned into an AI monolith. VCs are levitating. Robots are stepping out of demos and into the real world. And people keep declaring “the cloud is dead” while quietly running everything on it.
In Shimmy Says Ep. 37, Alan Shimel pulls these threads together to reveal the bigger picture forming beneath the headlines. We’re entering one of the largest technological shifts in decades, and this episode cuts through the noise to show why the decisions we make now will define the next 50 years of computing.
Key realities driving the moment:
AI is moving faster than the infrastructure required to sustain it
Cloud and DevOps haven’t vanished, they’ve become invisible foundations
Robots are shifting from prototypes to deployment
The guardrails we need are not keeping pace
This is the world according to Shimmy.
