Half a century is a long time for an IT business, and Microsoft is justified in making a lot of noise to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. The celebration brought together three Microsoft CEOs: Gates, Balmer, and Nadella. Microsoft CoPilot isn’t quite as old as the company, but it was still at the center of the celebrations. Many Microsoft products have come and gone over fifty years. Is CoPilot going to be one of the keepers? This and more on the Tech Field Day News Rundown.

Is Nvidia tariff proof? Ivanti might still be exposed. Oracle's a little too open.
Attackers are scanning a whole lot of networks. IBM introduces the AI mainframe. HPE Aruba Central is making some moves.
And we're gonna take a look at Microsoft's Golden Jubilee and this episode of the Tech Field Day Rundown. Hello everyone, and welcome to the Tech Field Day rundown for Wednesday, April the ninth. My name is Tom Hollingsworth, and I wanna wish everyone out there a very happy unicorn day.
I was gonna wear my unicorn mask, but Cory said it muffled my voice a little bit too much. So I decided I'll just bring you my, uh, my beautiful, uh, sparkly, unfiltered self. Um, it's also National Cherish and antique day, but since Steven is off doing something else this week, I decided to invite my friend Alistair onto the show.
Alistair, welcome to the Rundown. Thank you. And I feel very cherished today to be joining you, uh, on National Winston Churchill Day as a, uh, wartime leader and one of the great leaders of, uh, the British people, and particularly a great speechmaker, I think is a good example, at least of the Speechmaking site for us here at Tech Field Day as we launch into this, uh, wondrous, uh, beginnings of our rundown today.
You know, we've got lots of speeches coming up because there's some interesting news stories that are, uh, piling up over the last week or so, and we wanted to make sure to bring them to you. And we're actually gonna start off with one that's kind of a bigger geopolitical discussion that is very focused on a hot, uh, topic that would be ai. Because, uh, while you may recall last week, there was some liberation talk and there was a lot of panic in the markets over the last few days.
Nvidia seems to be in a pretty good position to avoid those, uh, looming price increases, at least here in the us. A research firm, Bernstein reports that 60% of AI servers that are shipped to the US from Mexico are exempt from tariffs under the US MCA, uh, trade Act that was put in place during the last Trump administration. Al, are we gonna see more server hardware being shipped via Mexico and Canada to avoid those now very high tariffs?
Yeah, it's an interesting thing, isn't it, that, uh, these tariffs that Trump has, has put into place, or the, sorry, the Trump administration has put into place, uh, against the local largest trading partners. In particular, I was thinking Canada and Mexico, uh, these tariffs have exemptions for things that he signed in as a, this more free, uh, trade agreement, the U-S-N-C-A between United States, Mexico, and Canada. So I'd be very surprised if we didn't see an increase of using that U-S-M-C-A treaty as a way of getting around the, the tariffs.
And it was to avoid this practice of things being shipped from heavily tariffed, uh, countries, in particular China, to other countries that are less tariffed before they're shipped into the United States, uh, yet has a massive loophole provided by the previous Trump administration to get around this. So, yeah, I think we are going to see this, this, this just makes business sense for suppliers who are gonna be hit with these larger tariffs. Uh, Nvidia does ship a bunch of their servers also from Taiwan, and those are gonna be hit with a 32% tariff.
Now, it seems like a sensible business move to ship those via one of the countries that's covered by U-S-M-C-A. Uh, the interesting part will be to see whether the, uh, current administration in the United States tries to remove those exceptions or to find a ruling that allows them to negate the exceptions that Bernstein believes are there for these server products that are being shipped through from adjacent countries, neighboring countries, to the United States. So I think this is exactly the kind of behavior that the blanket tariffs were supposed to be trying to avoid.
And yet, um, current administration seems to have been caught by their own previous decisions. Suspected Chinese government affiliated hackers have been exploiting a critical vulnerability. If you wanna look it up, it's CVE 2025.
It's recent 22 457, and it's a vulnerability in the Avanti VPN appliances that's been of active since March this year. And it's kind of disappointing that Avantis been struck with this. Again, not the first time that this kind of attack has been, uh, made against Avanti.
It kind of suggests they haven't made the changes they needed to. This is a buffer overflow floor that allows unauthenticated remote code execution. Uh, it hits a whole bunch of different products, including the secure, uh, the Connect secure product, uh, pulse Connect, uh, secure policy.
The, uh, zero Tear Access Gateways event is released, a patch and urges customers to update immediately. Uh, we have already seen apparently, uh, some exploitation of this song. How does this make you feel that this repeated vulnerability class being exploited on a single vendor?
Well, I mean, if you're keeping track, this is the third time that Ivanti has had a problem. And if you remember the last time they got caught with egg on their face, because this was a huge deal that they kind of swept under the GR rug a little bit. Um, they, they were like, oh, yeah, this isn't a big deal and, and we're not gonna deal with it.
Uh, I think they, they are starting to realize they may have some code quality issues. And this is one of the things that not just Avanti, but other companies really have to be careful of. Once people figure out that you have a code quality issue, they're not going to stop hammering your code base to find these things.
Buffer overflows are, well, I mean, there's a reason why they're so commonly used in things like cross-site scripting attacks is because once you can overflow that buffer and do kind of things like, I don't know, unauthenticated code execution, that becomes a major issue for your company in the future, because that means that I can basically hide. I don't need to download massive lists of usernames and passwords. I don't need to create remote access Trojans to get a foothold.
If I know that your code is is riddled full of holes, I'm just gonna keep poking away at it. And yes, I get this, that Avanti has released a patch, which is good on them, right? But you still have to take the, the systems down in production to apply the patch.
And how long is it gonna be before the next one comes up? I don't know, and I don't even know that Avanti knows at this point. I think it's probably time for them to kind of sit down with their development team and just say, we've gotta take a clean approach to this, right?
We have to find all of the areas where buffer overflow could potentially exist in a login services in any kind of code execution environments. And we've gotta make absolutely certain that those things are plucked, and it may end up being that Avanti is going to have to engage an outside company to do that. We've talked to a lot of companies at Tech Field Day who do this kind of vulnerability assessment by, you know, basically pretending to be a red team that's going after your systems and figuring out where the holes are.
Folks, your reputation's probably going to be damaged by this for the third time. It might be time to phone a friend and ask for some help. Speaking of denials, after a big campaign of them, Oracle Cloud has finally admitted that a hacker accessed customer data by compromising their login system for public cloud.
After Oracle initially, des denied literally everything. The hacker then said, oh yeah, watch this. And showed proof of customer data that they had accessed.
And then Oracle contacted customers to make sure that they knew that their data had been stolen. Here's the question that I've got, because Oracle is an operator of admittedly, a very popular public cloud, especially when it comes to things like medical records and such. Are they gonna face scrutiny and possibly even get in trouble for not disclosing this breach sooner?
I think they might end up with some, particularly some troubles around GDPR, uh, because of course, Oracle, as you say, very popular for heavily regulated use cases. That's really why they, they push themselves to the fores where your enterprise platform for data and GDPR requires disclosure of, of these kinds of compromises. Uh, Oracle do isn't required to disclose this, uh, in the United States as I understand it, uh, here in New Zealand, it's required disclosure as well.
Uh, the fun part, of course, is that Oracle only has to disclose it once they've recognized that it's occurred. So it's not about how long after the breach you have to disclose, it's about how long after you know there's a breach. And so Oracle being a company with, with the odd lawyer on call, will have made sure that they were very careful about how they talked about this.
Uh, from what I understand, it's not even that they publicly admitted. Uh, the evidence that we have is anecdotal from some of their customers that Oracle Cloud has quietly reached out to them to discuss data loss. So, or data, uh, theft rather than loss.
Uh, so yeah, it's, it maybe they're not gonna get into trouble very fast, so long as they do those disclosures out in, in Europe. Quickly, uh, I find it really interesting that this particular, uh, attacker who goes by the, the handle of Rose 8 7 1 68, um, which I think was my address in high school, uh, they, they've actually been really cool about this. It's not that they publicly posted a large amount of information.
Apparently they've got millions of records, 6 million records, including private security keys and, uh, entries for, for authentication. Um, also encrypted credentials. It's good that they weren't able to steal unencrypted credentials.
Uh, but this particular person has shared segments of the data with a security firm rather than publicly posting here. Here's the, the, the data that belongs to, uh, all of these people that we've compromised. They've gone directly to a security firm and said, uh, here's some data.
And that security firm has gone back to their clients and said, is this actually yours? Uh, from the coverage I've seen, the suggestion was that, uh, some of the authentication was relatively old dating back to 2023, but that it was authentication from production systems running inside these client's tenancy on the Oracle cloud. This definitely negates Oracle's statement that the, the data they had seen was definitely not from Oracle, was not Oracle data and was not, well, maybe they were being very specific.
It's not about access to the Oracle infrastructure. It's about access to the things that clients do on the Oracle infrastructure. Um, that sounds very lawyery and, uh, that shared responsibility that we usually see for security.
Uh, it feels like they want to slope your shoulders and say that the responsibility here should be all on their customers, none of it on Oracle. Um, yeah, this is not a great sign. We know that compromises will happen, but, uh, hackers are pretty motivated and they only have to be right once when they compromise your system.
When you are protecting it, you have to be right all of the time, but when there is a compromise, you need to at least be able to see that it has occurred and to be able to mitigate and remediate as rapidly as possible. Clear communication during that time is something that's vital and is definitely not something we've seen from Oracle. What with talking about unauthorized access security rules that have, researchers have seen a huge surge in unauthorized scanning of Juniper Networks and Palo Al Alto Networks devices.
Hmm, potentially this is a reconnaissance. Uh, maybe this is just a massive script kitty attack through some botnet. Uh, possibly it's an attempt to find new zero day vulnerabilities in these pretty common network security platforms.
The, uh, activity includes probing with default credentials against, uh, the Juniper, uh, session smart networking product and mass login attempts against Palo Alto's P os, uh, global Protect portals. Apparently this was sourced from over 24,000 unique IP addresses over the span of about a month. So this does sound like a, a botnet activity and possibly a new botnet we haven't heard from before.
Tom, is that what you are seeing in this? You smell that nothing else in the world smells like that zero day 'cause that's what this is. When you see a lot of activity being directed at very specific kinds of services, whether they're hardware or software related, what you've got on your hands is something that somebody has discovered that they're actively trying to exploit.
And the, either the, the paperwork hasn't hit yet to disclose the vulnerability, or worse yet, the the vendors don't know. I think it's interesting that you're starting to see, 'cause normally when you deploy something this big, you're, you're trying to get enough of those servers that are vulnerable, or in this case, systems, firewalls, what have you, quick enough that you can get a foothold before the patch gets released. And I think that that's what we're seeing here, is that there was an exploit developed for session smart networking for Global Protect portals.
It's probably a, a vulnerability in the backend of that. They probably share a backend, I I need to do a little research on this. And they're looking to see how far they can get with that, and they're looking to see if anybody has made any bad decisions.
Like, uh, I don't know, changing, not changing default passwords or if there's a buffer overflow, you know, 'cause those seem to be pretty common too, and they're hoping that they can get a foothold before the patch gets deployed to either plug the hole in the back end. You know, it could be something as simple as like an out of date web server or a out of date PAM authentication module. When you see indications that somebody is going after something, don't wait for the announcement.
You contact your organization, you say, Hey, I'm seeing this, I'm affected by this because the odds are good. They already have something in the works. I know companies like Juniper, I know especially companies like Palo Alto Networks, once this thing tripped enough systems that they're like, wait, something's going on here.
They immediately got to work trying to figure out where this problem was. They may not be ready to release the patch yet publicly, but I promise you, you can get yourself on the engineering specialist to test it to make sure what, it's not gonna break anything. And especially for larger organizations that rely on these devices, it's critical that you be aware of this because the trickle quickly becomes an avalanche.
And in the words of the great Lon K, once the avalanche has started, it's too late for the pebbles to vote. So you need to get ahead of that. You need to make sure that you are staying up to date with not only the patches, but communications with your vendors.
Because the rate that we can deploy large botnets to do either recon work or worse at distributed denial of service attacks, um, it may be a matter of hours before you can find yourself under the lens of a very ugly ion. Canon IBM is rolling out the Z 17 mainframe, which is AI ready, predictive and generative AI with multimodal support is baked into this new product, which will be available in June. You might have heard that mainframes are either dying or immortal depending on which side of the argument you're on, but it is relatively safe to assume that the new wave of AI could very well bring this beast back from the Dark Ages.
Now, the question that I have for you, Alice, can we expect to see data centers running full suites of Z series that are performing AI stuff? I think we'll see, maybe not entire data centers mainframes these days are not quite the same beasts that they were 40 years ago in a single mainframe occupied the entire data center. Uh, but we will see these things turning up in organizations that already have their core applications on Z series.
And please forgive me if I call it Z series. I come from a British origin place, and so my, uh, Americanized English sometimes slips particularly while I'm here at home. Uh, so the Zs series 17 arrives after two year run for Z Series 16 and increasing revenue.
Weird thing, right? Mainframes with increasing revenue. Uh, and I think this is kind of fundamental to it, the people who are still using mainframes are doing so because they enable capabilities within their organization that they would not get from any other, um, platform.
And often because they have so much sunk intellectual property in the applications and the processes that run on these mainframes now that sunk intellectual property generates the hugely valuable data that is going to be what feeds into these AI applications. And so I can see a lot of logic in running those AI applications alongside the same platform that is already handling that really valuable data and the business processes that are operated by that very valuable data. Well, we typically don't see this as being, there's a whole bunch of green screens and twin X cables and make before break connectors, uh, that will be giving some of you nightmare flashbacks.
Uh, we do see the mainframe as being something that's accessible from a more mainstream application. So you may not even know that there is a mainframe behind the application that you are using. I liked that Part of the announcement was not just that this was about generative ai, uh, the kind of AI that we've seen through open AI and, uh, chat GPT, the looking like a, a very intelligent, um, colleague, uh, with very good general knowledge, but a little bit too much confidence.
But also in the announcement was the, the, uh, predictive ai, what we've predict traditionally called AI ml, where it's not quite trying to emulate a human being, but trying to find patterns in your data to predict what will happen with, with the, uh, the future based on those trends. Again, that valuable data lives on mainframes in a lot of organizations. Interesting to see things like 90% of credit card transactions currently run on Z series, uh, Z series systems.
And so that's a pretty significant thing. It's a place where the value of mainframes has not gone away, but of course, the agility and flexibility that we want to see from more modern development practices. Cloud native development practices aren't particularly widespread on mainframe.
Having said that, mainframes are a virtualization platform. You can run modern operating systems in virtual machines on these, uh, mainframes. Uh, I've certainly seen plenty of presentations around running cloud platforms like OpenStack on top of Z series mainframes, so there may well be still lots of that flexibility and adaptability without losing the scalability that you get from mainframe systems.
May well see plenty of racks full of nice black Z series in future data centers. The heart of HPE Aruba networking is Aruba Central. This is the flagship management product that manages both wired and wireless networks.
And today, HPE Aruba networking has announced new options to help deploy Aruba Central. Uh, this is the first time that virtual private cloud is available for regulated industries like financial organizations who want to have much more visible control and are often not quite so keen on the multi-tenant network as a service kind of solutions that are available through, uh, HPE GreenLake. And then thinking about government organizations and highly regulated government organizations that might need to have compliance with security regulations like FIPs one 40 dash two, what is a new option for this as well sitting on top of certified hardware?
Tom is going for a global domination with this new portfolio. I think where they're at is that they've reached a very wide swath of the industry that can use, uh, SaaS on GreenLake or they can use, uh, the, the network as a service model. And they realize that there are some people who are just never gonna migrate to the cloud.
So they need to have an offering that allows them to work with these regulated industries, right? Um, the, the Phipps one 40 dash two is a no-brainer, right? Like everything that has to work with the federal government has to be Phipps one 40 dash two certified in order for that to happen.
And, uh, that goes for all the management as well. Uh, thi this is literally just, you know, one more thing on the checkbox. It runs OnPrem, which is where a lot of Aruba Central deployments work.
Um, this is just a way to make sure that they are probably staying ahead of some, some pending government regulation. You know, like, it must meet this, it shall do this. You, you, you've read the RFC, you know what that is?
The, the VPC deployment option really is, is financial, right? Like, like these systems have to be segmented off from everything in order to meet, you know, P-C-I-D-S-S compliance or to deal with Sarbanes Oxley or, you know, just Randall, you could just make up words at this point, like the old login passwords for a OL CDs and someone will be like, oh, yeah, that's a regulation that we have to follow. Um, because they're very scared of what will happen if they start operating and they don't meet those requirements.
Now, most people out there will probably be like, eh, rules are rules. I don't care what happens if one of 'em gets broken. Well, what they do is they figure out when you broke the rule, and it's usually not yesterday, it's usually three years ago.
And when they realize that you broke the rule three years ago, everything that you've done from that point forward, that infringes upon the rule, you get fined for retroactively back to three years ago. That's why these fines are usually not, you know, minuscule amounts. You're not paying a parking ticket, you're paying for a parking lot.
Like that's how big this is. Millions of dollars. And when you think about the regulations, not just here, but in other places, because as bad as Sarbanes Oxley is, as bad as P-C-I-D-S-S is, brother GDPR will give you heart burn.
And that is one of those ones where the EU put massive amount of teeth in that regulation. I mean, they can find you percentages of your recurring revenue that that's what they wanna do. They want to discourage this behavior.
So I think that this is actually a really smart move by HPE and specifically HP Aruba networking to get in front of these regulatory changes so that they can be, ensure that Central is the, the flagship product that can take care of this. Because if you think about the pending acquisition of Juniper Networks, and we still don't know what's gonna go on with that, no matter what happens after the acquisition, assuming that it's successful, it's all gonna run on central. So Central has to be ready to run on everything everywhere.
Um, granted it's never gonna run on a raspberry pie, but it needs to be ready to run in multiple different deployment scenarios to meet massive regulatory challenges so that, you know, the big industries, the ones that are target acquisition targets for HPE, uh, HP Aruba networking and eventually Juniper Networks as well, um, will, will be satisfied with Central because you're not gonna be operating that network without it. Alright, it's, uh, it's time for a closer look story and it's, uh, we wanted to take a look at one that really has had an impact on the IT industry in general. Uh, you may think that half a century is a blink of an eye depending on where you live, but for an IT business, that's a really long time and Microsoft has been making a lot of noise celebrating its 50th anniversary, the celebration brought together three Microsoft CEOs, bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, and Satya Nadella.
Uh, you know, think about all the products that you've used over the years. You're probably thinking of Windows or Office. Um, but are you thinking about copilot?
Because I'll tell you that while copilot is not as old as those venerable software packages that a lot of people still use, it's very much at the center of those celebrations because of the, the hype and the promise of what AI is gonna be bringing us. Now, we could probably sit here and name on Two Hands and all of our feet, all of the Microsoft products that have come and gone over the years. But I guess the question that I wanna lead off here as we kind of talk about this 50th anniversary, Al, is do you think copilot is gonna stack, is gonna be on that list, and is it gonna be up there with things like Windows three one or is it gonna be down there with Microsoft, Bob?
Well, I think I've had no personal experience with Copilot, and I kind of, it's interesting. I've, I've been using a Mac as my main machine for a long time and the, the launches around copilot and the, um, interesting laptops that have been coming out with copilot support, uh, make me keen to dip my toe back in again and see what Windows is like as a, uh, as a desktop and as a mobile platform, uh, at, uh, cloud Field Day. A little while ago, a couple of the other delegates were talking about using copilot as part of their workflow and had found that it had made massive strides in actually being usable to allow them to do things like generating, uh, Terraform or cloud formation templates.
And so it seems very interesting that Copilot is getting a lot more capabilities and we are seeing people using copilot to do actual useful things. So maybe we'll see copilot hanging around for a while. Of course, like, uh, Microsoft, I'm, uh, not particularly young anymore, and so I'm deeply cynical and maybe that's why I haven't yet gone out and bought myself a, uh, copilot pc.
My career definitely started with Microsoft, uh, Microsoft on, on the desktop at the time that I was a NetWare engineer. And progressively my NetWare certifications became less important as my Microsoft certifications became more important. Uh, proxy server two certification absolutely vital to me as my career progressed.
Uh, but it really has for me been a theme, right? Throughout, although I'm on a MAC today, I'm still using Outlook and, uh, Microsoft 3 6 5 as my mail service. So that transition that Microsoft has gone through from being all about an operating system to being all about an office suite, to being all about a back office suite, to now being all about Azure and, and then AI with Azure, definitely my career has followed some of that same arc of being local desktop towards being server based and towards then being cloud based.
And maybe my career has taken me to be AI based and I'll get that AI implant so I can think more clearly, particularly when I'm tired and haven't had nearly enough coffee in the morning like I had this morning. Tom, you said you've also been impacted by Microsoft as part of your career and as a networking guy, I didn't think Microsoft played heavily in the networking space. Well, at first they didn't.
1. I can remember my first big upgrade was going from three one to 3 1 1 for 32 bit disc access. I'll admit, I was in line in 1995 to buy Windows 95.
And then as my career progressed and I started working on more than just desktops, I started working on networking. I had a Windows machine when I worked at my last job as a senior network engineer. In fact, it wasn't up until, I think it was about a year and a half before I left that I finally broke down and bought a MacBook Air.
Um, and, and you're right, like all you need to know about the dominance of Microsoft products in the industry is the fact that when I worked at IBM as a, as a co-op, um, we were required to use Lotus Smart Suite because IBM owned Lotus at the time. But for anybody that was customer facing that had to send emails and documents to people, they had a permission to install Microsoft Office on their PCs. Because as it turns out, if you're gonna talk to the rest of the world, you've gotta use Microsoft Word like that.
That's just a given. Uh, maybe not so much Excel, maybe not so much PowerPoint, although I would say the fact that the vernacular for a presentation, no matter what you're running it in, has become PowerPoint kind of like Kleenex or Velcro. Um, the, the key here to me is that for everybody who ran out and lined up to buy Microsoft Windows, for everybody who made the leap to get new server hardware to install Windows 2000 instead of Windows NT four, I don't see that today people are not lining up to get copilot.
I mean, yes, they're buying new PCs, but I don't think they're buying them for copilot. I think they're buying them because they need to replace their, their existing devices. And it just so happens that they have mps to run copilot.
I also see a lot of people that are not upgrading to Windows 11. 0 chip in it, so I can't upgrade to Windows 11, but Windows 10 is running just fine. And that kind of release schedule, like with Windows 10, really, when it had that rolling release schedule in Windows 11, like I haven't felt compelled to upgrade.
I know that Windows 10 is gonna be end of life at the end of the year, but I don't care. Like, like that's the thing that I think is so fascinating to me, is I used to be the person who had to have the most bleeding edge, cutting edge operating system, and now I don't really mind that much being a little bit behind the curve because it's a stability problem. And look, if you're gonna work on PCs, if you're gonna work in the, in the client industry, you've gotta know how to work on Windows because most of the problems that you're gonna fix are Windows based.
And before you guys go into the comments and tell me that I'm a Mac fanboy, I'm not because the majority of the problems that are faced by Windows PCs are related to the fact that they support every piece of hardware under the sun. I've said it on the rundown a number of times, something like 70% of all of the problems, they probably higher than that, 70% of the problems on a Windows machine are caused by bad drivers. You don't see this problem on wind on Mac piece or Mac Systems because the driver control is so tight, like the memory management is so much better.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. All you Darwin fan boys out there, come on, leave me a comment and tell me that it's all because it's running, uh, BSD style kernel and, and we'll agree to disagree. I think that Windows as ubiquitous as it is, is facing an identity crisis because most people don't care what is running on their PC now.
They care about the op, the, the application load more than the operating system load. And so that's why you've seen this, this move to have like a Windows, uh, uh, app store, a Microsoft App Store, um, it's why it actually didn't work that well in Windows 10. And a lot of people just don't care.
Uh, Microsoft still has the, the game industry wrapped up, right? Like you're never going to see a lot of developers that are writing code to run games on Mac without them having run on Windows first. I mean, steam has has helped a little bit there, but I mean, there's a reason why I still have a Windows PC is because I run games on it.
And I think that until Microsoft can pivot away from that, like there's no value for copilot for me because of the way that I use my system. And I know a lot of people use services, and I know a lot of people love the idea of, you know, co-pilot replay or image generation or stuff like that, but that gets away from the core of what Microsoft is. Is Microsoft an operating system company and a utility application company, or are they just software that runs on top of a thing?
Because if we've gotten to the point where it's more about the apps and less about the operating system, then the, the true transformation really has happened from Gates to Ballmer to Nadella, but then that means that the, uh, underlying intellectual property of the operating system is kind of inlet at that point. We might as well be running Linux. All right, well, I think I've said just about everything that I can say on that topic, but the good news is, is that we have a lot more to say for all of the things coming up, because as you know, tech Field Day is a year long event that we love to bring you.
And the next edition of Tech Field Day is coming up April 27, 20 second through the 25th Alistair, that's four days. It's really, is it, it is a massive event for AI infrastructure Field Day. It will be a full four days.
And we had a four day long, uh, tech Field Day event in a little while. It's, um, pretty amazing. Uh, a whole day at Google can spend some time with, uh, Juniper and Pfizer and, um, a whole bunch of other people that are into this infrastructure for running your ai.

Uh, also while you're on the Tech Field Day website, take a look at the event that ran yesterday and that was the, uh, HPE ProLiant, um, deep dive in, in compute.
And uh, that'll be some really interesting content that really have gone quite deep into what's inside this latest generation of Proliance. Of course, uh, one of the antiques that I'm treasuring is Mr. Tom Hollingsworth.
We just heard how antique he is from his enthusiasm for Windows three 11. Also the first version I got certified on. Uh, he will of course be hosting some more events, uh, beginning on May 7th and eighth Mobility Field Day, lucky 13.
You're right. Hey, you know what? We've got all the, uh, mobility experts in the industry and we have some of the greatest companies that are making, uh, wireless cards and, uh, wireless access points.
1. How different can a driver model really be? I kid a little bit, but I, we have a great lineup of delegates.
We have an amazing lineup of presenters. com has the whole list. We're gonna be adding appearance pages pretty soon so you know when to put those things on your schedule.
Um, it's always fun. We always get to see new stuff. We always get to wow the audience.
And then at the end of the month, uh, May 29th and 30th, uh, you know, we're gonna get through Memorial Day with all the cookouts and the hot dogs and all the other stuff. And then we're going right into security. And as previously mentioned, Microsoft is gonna be a part of Security Field Day and they're gonna be talking about copilot.
You may have noticed that we did a showcase with them recently. com has all the details behind that. We're gonna expand on all of that and continue to bring more great things to the table.
So, uh, make sure you tune in for that as well as the other companies that we have presenting at Security Field Day. And make sure you look for all the other events that we have coming up because we are starting to schedule events through the summer of 2025. So, you know, whether it's something like Cisco Live or some other special events that we've got coming up or I don't know, the next networking field day, the next cloud field day, we're gonna have those ready to go for you.
