TFDx HPE ProLiant Deep Dive Event: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLinuRwpnsHaf_s_gvj87SY2wr0qqvsD-G
Priya Sharma from HPE shared her experience presenting on edge computing at the event. She talked about HPE’s DL145 server, edge solutions, and Compute Ops Management. She appreciated the support and organization, which made her feel confident during her session. Priya focused on far edge use cases but agreed edge computing also includes near edge, storage, networking, and AI. She suggested a future session could cover HPE’s full edge portfolio. Hey everyone. My name is Bria s Shema, I'm part of HP Edge Computing product management team. We started off with all our Gen 12 servers.
We started off with Edge and uh, then we moved on to all ILO and compute ops management and AI stuff. I think it was a very, very, uh, great session and it kind of makes you think pretty much everything that HP has from end to end. I loved it.
Everything was super organized. Loved the folks, and, uh, they, especially for my session, they made me feel very comfortable. So I'm really grateful for that.
And, uh, there were, um, they, they basically helped you with everything, like how you have to talk to all the delegates and where you will be and how you have to prepare your slides, how you have to answer all the questions. The support was excellent. Comput at the Edge, that was my session and myself and two of my colleagues helped me with the session.
So we talked about, um, why h computing matters and how h computing is different. We talked about D 1 45, my favorite product, and then we moved on to all the HBH solutions and we talked about HP compute ops management, how it's perfect for the edge. There was one comment about what is your definition of the edge?
And I said it's edge is a unique location. Mm-hmm. But, um, I think one of the delegates said that, okay, there is a near edge and fire far edge.
And I completely agree with that, that they're absolutely right. Yeah. So when we talk about HP compute products, we, I, I was talking about the far edge because DL 1 45 is positioned for the par far edge, but they're absolutely right.
You know, we have a lot of customers who go with the neared server, so you can, they can pretty much pick anything that can be IMPLO implemented in a data center that works as a near edge, um, server for their analytics and, uh, other workloads purposes. So, yeah. Okay.
Yeah, that was interesting. What I would've incorporated in my session since it was compute at the edge. But we do understand that Edge is more than compute, right?
Mm-hmm. It includes, um, network, uh, networking solutions. It includes storage, it includes management software and ai, and pretty much all the SA software that, um, helps, uh, with the edge deployment.
So we should have made a, a bigger, uh, we should have done a different, uh, session with the, everything at the edge we would've talked about, because HP does everything. We have gateways, we have storage, we have, um, switches and everything that gets deployed in that. And, and we have all the solutions like GreenLake and ops management and computer ops management, Uber Central.
So we can definitely do a different session next time.
