Hi everyone. I'm Bonnie Schneider with your Ecotech Analyst Insights, the United Nations Annual Climate Summit Cop 29 recently wrapped up in Baku, Azerbaijan for the first time ever, the conference dedicated and entire day to digital technology launching the Green Digital Action Declaration. Over 1000 governments, companies and organizations pledge to harness digital solutions while addressing their growing carbon footprint.
Data center Power Demand is projected to consume nearly 3% of global electricity use by 2050. At one cough 29 panel hosted by Deloitte, Nvidia highlighted efforts to make data centers more energy efficient, including using liquid cooled GPUs direct to chip Liquid cooling helps to reduce both power and water use. They noted that accelerated computing platforms offer greater efficiency, providing another avenue to reduce energy consumption.
Incremental gains like the adoption of liquid cooling are promising steps forward. With initiatives like the Green Digital Action Declaration launched at COP 29, the tech industry has a unique opportunity to prioritize sustainability early in design, thus paving the way for substantial and long lasting carbon reductions.
